Up one Level ] What to Measure !? ] How to Measure ! ] How to Make it Work! ]

I would like to describe a typical monitoring and efficiency test by using a chilled water system as an example.

Chilled water is typically generated by using an electrical motor to turn a compressor, that provides a pressure lift in a refrigeration system.  The cooler side (evaporator) is used for cooling the water that is circulated in the process or comfort HVAC system.  The warmer side (condenser) is used to extract heat and dissipate it typically to a cooling tower. Refrigerants and compressor types will vary, but in general this is how it works.
