Mattel introduced thirty five more cars and trucks this year.  This included two new spoilers and the regular issues on the Boss Hoss Club car that was introduced in the 1970 set.  Others that were added were seven new Heavyweights Trucks, a new version of the Snake and Mongoose dragsters in both the funny cars and rail dragsters. Cars were manufactured in the USA (US) and Hong Kong (HK), but this was the last year of the US manufacturing.  This was also the last year of the collectors buttons, and they were still available as metal for some models, but most were plastic.
