Grading die-cast cars, or any old toy or collectible, is a difficult task.  Some collector use a scale that ranges from mint to good other speak of a range from C10 (mint) to C1 (good).  These are the two ranges and how they compare with an example.

MINT (m) C10	As it came out of the package, not played with!
NEAR MINT TO MINT (nm-m) C9	Small pin-prick in the paint, slightly tarnished base, wheels or decal
NEAR MINT (nm) C8	Barely noticeable scratch, wear, or crooked decal (tampo)
EXCELLENT TO NEAR MINT (e-nm) C7	More wear than above with possible lightly tarnished base
EXCELLENT (e) C6	Small scratches, discolorations in paint, slight wheel wears
FINE (fn) C5	Dark patches in paint (toning), tarnished base, scratches in paint
VERY GOOD TO FINE (vg-fn) C4	Missing patches of paint, very noticeable scratches
VERY GOOD (vg) C3	Heavy scratches and toning, very heavy tarnish on base
GOOD TO VERY GOOD (g-vg) C2	Missing minor parts, paint & cracked plastic windshield
GOOD (g) (C-1)	Missing minor parts, major paint & badly scratched plastic windshield, repainted (nice)
"Beater"	Missing major parts, paint & cracked plastic windshield, repainted (bad)

These are my opinion and not to be used for any other uses.
